Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Are the Dumplings Expired?

Fearing that Qin Sijue would call, she dared not turn on her phone; it remained off the whole time.

Staring at the familiar white cellphone, Gu Qiangwei hesitated for a long time, wanting to switch it on but not daring to do so.

She was afraid to see any messages about Qin Sijue.

Just then, a stifling sensation suddenly arose in her chest followed by a strong wave of nausea—

Gu Qiangwei furrowed her eyebrows, feeling the nauseating sensation become uncontrollable, she suddenly threw off the thin blanket and rushed toward the bathroom.

Leaning over the sink, the sick feeling grew stronger; she felt like vomiting, but after retching for a while, nothing came out.

After a while, the feeling of revulsion seemed to fade, but her chest still felt stuffy, it was an indescribable sensation.

She sighed in relief, turned around with her eyebrows still knotted, and went back to the bed.

But as soon as she got to the bed, the nauseous feeling struck again, seemingly even more intense than before.

“Ugh—”

She rushed to the bathroom, and the dumplings she had eaten that evening came up virtually intact!

Not until there was nothing left to throw up did Gu Qiangwei feel like she had been drained of half her life. After rinsing her mouth, she returned to the bed.

She wondered what on earth was wrong with her.

Could it be that the dumplings were bad?

But she had just bought them yesterday, and they had been in the fridge the whole time; they shouldn’t have gone bad.

Were they expired?

With that thought, she couldn’t help but rush downstairs to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and checked the expiry date of the dumplings.

“They haven’t expired…”

Putting the dumplings back in their place, she turned around, confused, and went back upstairs.

She hadn’t eaten anything unusual today that should’ve upset her stomach.

Perhaps she was just a bit tired; lying on the bed deep in thought, she eventually drifted off to sleep without realizing it.

Her sleep hadn’t been great recently. As soon as the sky began to lighten, she found herself without any desire to sleep.

After getting up and washing up, she made a simple breakfast. Once finished, she drove to the company.

However, barely arriving at the company, another makeup artist who was taking over her shift suddenly said she had something to do tomorrow and asked to switch shifts with her.

Gu Qiangwei was easygoing, so she agreed.

She then had no choice but to drive back home.

She hadn’t been driving long when her phone rang again.

“Dear, have you gone to the company?”

“Yeah, but I have the day off.”

“Ah, you’re off today?”

“Yeah.”

“Then why don’t we go out and have some fun?”

Hearing Huo Yishan’s voice on the phone, Gu Qiangwei was well aware that for the last half month, Yishan had always been worried about her mood and took almost every opportunity to get her out and about, having fun all over Jingcheng.

But her mood had improved a lot in this half month.

“Yishan, my mood has improved a lot,” she said.

On the phone, Huo Yishan paused for a moment.

“Hey, it’s the weekend, I’ll take you to a fun place!”

“Where are we going?”

Having left Qin Si, she felt like she had nothing to do aside from work every day, so she casually asked.

“Did you drive?”

“I did.”

“I’m at the set, come pick me up first, then we’ll go!”

Gu Qiangwei hesitated for a few seconds, thinking she had nothing else to do by herself at home, so she agreed.

After hanging up, she turned the steering wheel and drove toward the set where Huo Yishan was filming.

Knowing she was coming, Huo Yishan left the set early and was waiting by the roadside for Gu Qiangwei to arrive.

Fiddling with her phone with nothing else to do, a sudden honking caught her attention.

She instinctively looked up, expecting Qiangwei, but instead, her gaze fell upon Li Yuan, the man who had taken her first kiss!

“Hey, beautiful lady!”

Seeing her standing by the roadside, Li Yuan deliberately stopped his car. He was good-looking, but a playful, nonchalant smile always lingered at the corner of his mouth.
