Chapter 135: Tribe of Uzzus

A long time ago, before the time of Amri and Jinzidal, and before the emergence of the Black-Eyed, during the reign of King Eyrion Wilberforce; there was a tribe called Uzzus. They lived on an island in the middle of the sea. The sea where the Black-Eyed traveled on to reach the east.

The tribe of Uzzus had a population of just seven thousand. They were believed to be the oldest clan in the world, yet, birth among the tribe was not like it was in other tribes. Among the Uzzus, a woman would remain pregnant for decades before giving birth.

Apart from that, they had the secret of eternal youth. Old age was rare. And their death count in a decade would just be around thirty to forty.

Their king was a handsome redhead, whose eyes were black. King Uznu Uzzus was his name.

King Uznu was out on a tour one day when he saw a large fleet of ships approaching his island with lots of weapons and soldiers. The king immediately ordered his men to get ready for war. Besides fish and Dordor, they didn't see anything else that much, and whenever they did, it was usually trouble.

When the fleet arrived, they turned out to be harmless travelers on their way to the distant eastern lands. Their tribe was Ururu and, surprisingly, they'd the same black eyes as the king.

King Uznu was enamored of having others with the same kind of eyes as him. He granted them a safe passage.

He even hosted them for a month before they were ready to leave. Uznu was disturbed by that. He had never felt at home with any other person more than he did with the Ururu.

Unable to sleep that night, king Uznu decided to meet the Black-Eyed leader and implore him to postpone their leave. He had never met their leader before, but he was determined.

Using the white bead protection, he passed the guards unnoticed and entered the leader's tent.

When he entered the tent, nine men were standing at attention, facing the wall. He turned to leave but curiosity overcame him and he moved forward.

Suddenly, his soul ignited and his pol years burned. He bled from the nose and mouth. He wasn't attacked, that much he understood. His predicament was caused by just looking at the Black-eyed leader.

Very few had ever gazed upon the face of the leader without dying. His was a pol so strong that it was lethal. He was the future Lord King. King Kuyurussa'ayi Ururu.

But Uznu survived. He stood up with difficulty, spatting blood, and asked, "W-who are y-you?"

The nine men in the tent stared at him in amazement. Uznu was the first non-Ururu to withstand a gaze at Kuyurussa'ayi and survive.

King Kuyurussa'ayi adopted Uznu that night and renamed him Uznu Ururu.

Uznu welcomed that wholeheartedly. He had never felt such a bond even with his kinsmen. He trusted the Black-eyed king. And there and then, he agreed to leave his kingdom and everything behind to go with the Ururu King.

But Uznu didn't want to be anything less than a king. Those nine people he saw with the leader of the Black-eyed were the nine kings of the Ururu called Tasu'a.

Tasu'a kings must always be nine in number. To become a member, one had to duel the ninth person to death. And that was how a duel was organized, as requested by the Uzzus.

Spectators gathered while Uznu waited leisurely in the ring for his opponent. All the remaining Tasu'a were present. The only one missing was the leader, Kuyurussa'ayi. He remained in his tent to prevent the death of anyone who beheld him.

The Tasu'a were all masked. Jailan Ururu, the proposed opponent, came and stood in front of Uznu.

"You are king Jailan Ururu, son of king Ashiraini Ururu. You have forty-seven thousand three hundred and fifty years of pol. Your Star is named YSKEZAI. You have the Eye and the Sword techniques."

"An hour ago, you discussed how to kill king Eyrion Wilberforce with your fellow kings. You suggested killing his son, Wilberforce Junior, first."

"'WHAT CAN YOU SEE WITH THESE EYES OF YOURS?' is what you are going to ask me in the next two seconds."

Exactly two seconds later, what Uznu predicted came to pass. "What can you see with these eyes of yours?" Jailan asked.

Uznu laughed upon hearing his opponent's words. He said, "No one can ever be able to defeat me. My eyes see what will happen two seconds before it happens. 'Miss' is what I named this Bend.

"But that's not all, I also read the stars to know my enemy, the strength of their pol years, and their techniques. This I named 'Bio'.

"I can also tell what my opponent did an hour before we meet, all with the help of my eyes. This I called 'Truth'."

Miss. Bio. Truth. What Uznu was ignorant of was that his eyes were the reason he gained all these Bends.

The Ururu worshipped the Black Eyes. And they knew why Uznu had those particular Bends.

Upon seeing Uznu's Bends, all of them knelt in worship. They recited in unison:

"The King of Ururu (Namibi yâ Urürü)."

"From the first of Ururu (Damshish bi Urürü)."

"To the last of Ururu (jímbíl Urürü)."

Kuyurussa'ayi saw everything with Shankil through Dumakisu Ururu's eyes.

He ordered for the stop of the duel. And Uznu was made an Ururu king, changing the Tasu'a kings from (Nine) to Ashura (Ten).

This happened before Ururu migrated to the eastern lands where Eyrion the second ruled. After that, it took them a hundred years before they raged war against Eyrion.

It was now more than one thousand and eight hundred years after the Fall of the Eyrion Wilberforce kingdom. Uznu spent all those years honing his eye techniques.

Now, Uznu returned to the battlefield in black armor. This was the day to prove himself to the Lord King, King Kuyurussa'ayi Ururu of the first world.

Surprisingly, a woman with dark-brown eyes and pol that smelled like Wilberforce stood by Uznu. Both of them looked intently at Armad.
